Brand new and unreleased 2023 1/4 Ounce British Britannia gold bullion coins

Design of the 2023 British Britannia Gold Coin
The 2023 Gold British Britannia 1/4 Ounce coin features a portrait image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, wearing her crown. The design used is the official portrait of the Queen currently used on British coinage, and was drawn by Jody Clark. Due to the Queen’s passing in 2022, this is the last year that the coin will feature Her Majesty on the front.
The reverse side of the coin features an image of Lady Britannia walking on the shores of Britain. She carries a trident in her right hand, and a shield and olive branch in her left. The shield features the Union Jack image on it. Lady Britannia looks over her right shoulder. On the outside of the coin the words ‘Britannia, 2022, 1/4 Oz, 999.9 fine gold’ are inscribed.
The British Britannia Series
The British Britannia series is launched annually by the government of the United Kingdom, and are backed by the UK government. Each coin carries its own legal tender value. The Britannia coin was first launched in a 1 Ounce size back in 1988. Today, the Britannia is available in 1 Ounce and fractional ounce sizes, and in silver and platinum. it is the official gold coin of Great Britain.
The UK government also releases the gold Sovereign coin annually, however this coin has been released for more than 150 years, and is a 7.3 gram gold coin. Both are hugely popular with investors.
The Royal Mint has been in production for more than 150 years, and at one point had branches worldwide including what later became the Royal Canadian Mint and the Perth Mint. The image of Lady Britannia was first used in the 1st century on Roman coinage, when Britain was part of the Roman Empire. Since then, she has appeared several times on coins that have been released by the United Kingdom.
