About the 2022 Silver Somalian Elephant Coin

The 2022 Silver Somalian Elephant coin is manufactured by the Bavarian State Mint in Germany on behalf of the government of Somalia. First released in 2004, the coin is now in its 18th year of production. The Silver Elephant coin is available in 1 Ounce and 1 Kilogram sizes. 

Design of the 2022 Silver Somalian Elephant Coin

The Silver Somalian Elephant coin features an image of a mother and baby Elephant walking in the savanna with the sun shining in the background. The coin is part of an 'African Wildlife' series, and features, which is inscribed at the top of the coin. At the bottom of the coin are its weight and purity.

The front of each coin features an image of the Somalian coat of arms, with a leopard on each side of a shield. The words 'Somali Republic' are written at the top, with the year of minting, 2022 written on the side. The coin's face value of 100 Shillings is written at the bottom of the coin. 

Each year, the design of the Elephant depicted on this coin is changed and updated, making these coins particularly popular with investors.
