Design of the Somalian Elephant 1 Kilogram 2022 Silver Coin

The 2022 1 Kilogram Somalian Elephant coin features an image of an adult Elephant walking with her baby through the grasslands of Somalia. Birds fly in the background while the sun is shining. Baobab trees stand in the distance. The words 'African Wildlife' are inscribed at the top of the coin, and at the bottom is the word 'Elephant'. The coin's weight of 1 Kilogram and purity of 9999 fine are also located at the bottom of the coin. 

The reverse side of the coin features the Somalian coat of arms, which includes a shield in the centre, with a leopard standing on either side. The words 'Somali Republic' are inscribed at the top of the coin, with its face value of 2000 Shillings at the bottom of the coin. The year of minting, 2022 is also on the coin. 

The Somalian Elephant coin features a new design each year of Elephants, while the other aspects of the coin remain the same. The coin was first released in 2004, and it is currently in its 18th year of production. Prior to 2004, the coins were manufactured by the government of Zambia.
