The American Eagle gold coin was initially released in 1986 by the United States Mint. The coin is available in 1/10 Oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz and 1 oz sizes.

The 1/10 Oz Gold American Eagle has a face value of $5 USD.

In addition to gold, the American Eagle series is also available in silver and platinum. In 2017 the American Eagle was also released in palladium. The US Mint also produces the famous gold St. Gauden coin and American Buffalo gold coin. Both of these coins are only available in one size, and in gold.
