The platinum American Eagle coin is manufactured by the United States Mint. The coin is available in 1/10 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/2 ounce and 1 ounce sizes.

Each coin features an image of the Statue of Liberty on the front, with the year of minting and the words 'In God We Trust' to the right of her face.

The reverse of the coin features an image which is updated each year.

Each 1/4 Ounce platinum American Eagle coin has a face value of $25 USD.

The American Eagle coin series was first released in gold, and due to its popularity, was later released in silver and platinum. Recently the United States Mint has also launched a palladium American Eagle coin.

The United States Mint also produce the American Buffalo gold coin, which is only available in gold, and the St. Gauden, which is also only available in gold. The American Eagle coin is the only platinum coin currently available to platinum investors from the United States Mint.
