Design of the 2024 Silver 1 Ounce American Eagle Coin
The American Eagle silver bullion coin has undergone a recent redesign which includes a more contemporary image of an Eagle on the reverse side of the coin. The front of the coin features Lady Liberty walking with the dawn breaking in the backdrop. She gracefully cradles olive branches in her left arm whilst donning a cloak adorned with the American flag. Positioned above is the word 'Liberty', whilst the inscription 'In God We Trust' appears near her feet. The base of the coin denotes its year of minting. Each coin carries a discreet letter, signifying the specific American Mint of its origin. Predominantly, the Westpoint mint produces these silver Eagles, denoted by the letter 'W'.
On the reverse, the coin features the majestic Bald Eagle soaring, a branch securely gripped in its talons. Encircling the coin's periphery are the words 'United States of America'. The coin's nominal value of $1 USD and its metal classification are also engraved on the exterior. To the left, the Latin maxim 'E Pluribus Unum' is etched, epitomising the quintessential American democratic ethos, signifying unity in diversity.
