Each bar contains 10 ounces of 999.9 fine investment grade gold bullion.
The top of the bar features the Johnson Matthey logo, with the fineness of the bar, and SLC inscribed below. Johnson Matthey's primary refinery was located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The bar's weight is located at the bottom.
Johnson Matthey was one of the most prominent precious metals refineries worldwide, however in 2016 they were bought by the Japanese company Asahi. As a result, Johnson Matthey bars are no longer manufactured, and those in circulation now carry a higher premium.
Johnson Matthey gold bars are available in 1 ounce, 10 ounce and 1 kilogram sizes. Johnson Matthey bars are also available in silver.
