This is the second in the newly released series of Queen's Beasts coins issued by the Royal Mint in the UK. The Queen's Beasts series of coins was first released by the Royal Mint in 2016.

Each coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, with the coin's face value of £100. The reverse of the coin features the image of the Griffin of Edward III, and also contains the weight, fineness and year of issue of the coin.

All 1 Ounce gold Queen's Beasts coins are 99.99% pure investment grade gold bullion.

The Royal Mint also issues the Queen's Beast coin in silver in a 2 ounce size.
