Issued by the Austrian Mint (Munze Osterreich)
Design of the 2023 1/25 Ounce Gold Philharmonic Coin
Each 1/25 Ounce gold coin features the same design as all other sized gold Philharmonic coins. The front of each coin features a mix of all the instruments used by the Vienna Philharmonic, with the words 'Wiener Philharmoniker' on the top. On the reverse of the coin is an image of the organ from the famous concert hall in Vienna, Austria. The top of each coin features the words 'Republik Osterreich'. Beneath the image of the organ is the coin's size of 1/25 ounce, its purity of 9999, and finally its face value of 4 Euros.
At approximately 1.25 grams, this is one of the smallest sized gold coins available to investors, and it is the smallest gold coin that is minted by the Austrian Mint.
About the Gold Austrian Philharmonic CoIn
The 1/25 Oz gold Philharmonic is part of the Philharmonic series, which is available in gold in both 1-ounce and fractional ounce sizes. It is also available in silver and in platinum, in a 1 Ounce size only. The coin was initially released in 1989 in a 1 ounce size. At that time, the coin was issued in Schilling denominations. In 2002, when Austria adopted the Euro, the denomination on the coin was updated to Euros.
