Design of the 2024 Silver Maple Leaf
The 2024 silver Maple Leaf coin features an image of King Charles III on one side and a maple leaf on the other. 2024 is the first year that the coin features an image of King Charles III on it. Above the King's portrait are the words "Charles III". At the bottom of the coin, its legal tender value of $5 CAD is inscribed. The coin's year of minting, 2024, is also inscribed on the coin.
The back of the coin side depicts an image of a Canadian Maple Leaf, which is the official symbol of Canada. At the top of the coin the word 'CANADA' is inscribed. Inscribed at the bottom of the coin are it's weight of 1 ounce, and the words 'Fine Silver' and 'Argent Pur'. The Maple Leaf silver coin's purity of 9999 is also inscribed to the left and the right of the Maple Leaf image. This coin is unique as it is one of the few silver coins that is available with such a high purity.
The tube of 25 Maple Leafs is sold in a plastic tube with a yellow top that is issued by the Royal Canadian Mint.

The Maple Leaf series was initially released in 1979 in gold.
