Design of the 2024 Silver Panda Coin

The silver Chinese Panda coin features an image of the Temple of Heaven located in Beijing on the front. The coin's year of minting, 2024, is located to the right of the image. On the reverse side of the coin is an image of two pandas sitting on the ground in front of some Bamboo trees. The coin's face value of 10 Yuan, weight of 30 grams, and purity of 999 are all located on the back of the coin.

These coins are sold individually or in monster boxes of 600 coins. One unique feature of the Panda series is that they are the only major coin series sold today that is not denominated in ounces, but rather in grams. In 2016, the Chinese Mint changed the units in which these coins were denominated from ounces to grams. 

About the Panda Series

The Chinese Panda series is the only major bullion coin series to be released by the Chinese Mint, and it is available in gold, silver, and platinum. 

The coin series was first released in gold in 1982, in ounce denominations. The coin was also released in silver in 1983, and in 2021, the Chinese Mint also released the series in platinum. Due to the fact that these coins have a new design each year, as well as limited mintage, they do then to appreciate over the metal content over time. 

Each coin comes individually encapsulated in a plastic capsule, which helps to protect the coins from any damage or scratches.
