Design of the Kangaroo 1/4 Ounce Gold Coin
The Kangaroo coin is the most famous series coin currently issued by the Perth Mint. The front of each coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, with the words 'Elizabeth II' and 'Australia' written at the top. The coin's face value of $25 AUD is located at the bottom of the coin. The reverse of the coin features the words 'Australian Kangaroo' at the top. The image in the center of the coin features a Kangaroo. The image of the Kangaroo changes depending on the coin's year of issue. The red Kangaroo is the national animal of Australia, and is known for its speed. The coin's year of minting, size, and purity are all located at the bottom.
