Design of the 2022 1/10 Oz Gold Britannia

Each 2022 gold Britannia coin features a portrait image of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on the front. The coin's face value of £10 pounds sterling is located on the top left of the coin, and on the right-hand side is the word 'Elizabeth II'. 

On the reverse side of the coin is an image of Lady Britannia walking on the shores of Britain. She carries a trident in one hand, with an olive branch and a shield in the other. As she is standing she is looking over her right shoulder. Circling the coin are the word 'Britannia', the coin's year of minting, its weight, and its purity. 

Each of these coins is 9999 fine, making them investment-grade bullion coins

About the Britannia Series.

The British Britannia coin series was first launched by the Royal Mint in 1987 in gold. The coin is available in 1 Ounce and fractional sizes. The gold Britannia coin became an instant success and quickly grew in popularity among gold investors looking for new coins to add to their portfolios. In 2008 the Royal Mint added a silver Britannia coin to the series, and in 2016 the coin was also launched in silver. 

The Royal Mint manufactures a number of gold coins, including the gold Sovereign, the Royal Arms Series, and the Queen's Beasts series. However, the Britannia is the best-selling gold coin denominated in ounces.
